Wow time flies. I just checked in and can’t believe how long it is.
Baby Rhubarb turns 2 years old tomorrow. Two years???? When did that happen?
Oil Man is away working so we will celebrate when he gets back home in two weeks.
Baby Rhubarb is running everywhere, talking like crazy and has the best personality (well most days anyways). He’s a funny little guy and he brings me so much joy.
Oil Man’s daughter lives with us full time now and because she is 14, there have been some challenges but it’s slowly working itself out.
We just bought a second new truck. Oil Man’s “Rig Rocket” as he calls it is all miled out and at the end of his lease so we decided to down grade to a “Family vehicle” and go middle of the road on the truck. Picked up the Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab sport two days ago. It’s a huge step down from the F350 Superduty he had but it will save us huge.
Trying to save money for a Christmas trip to the Mayan Riviera or Cuba next December. The whole immediate family will go so there will be between 8-12 of us. I think it’s a nice way to spend the holidays.
Two of my kitties passed away. One in May from old age. Sunny was my beautiful orange female tabby (Which they tell me is very rare, most orange tabby’s are male). She was 17 and I was in the waiting room to have her euthanized when she passed on her own. It was peaceful but a very emotional experience. Just me and my girl.
Then my big, fat 6 year old mix passed away in July from that urinary crystal blockage. He blocked over night and by the time we got up in the morning he was bleeding so bad, there wan’t anything we could do but euthanize him. It was horrible and I’m still traumatized by it.
My house was very quiet after that with only 2 cats left so we broke down and got a kitten two weeks ago. The house is much more lively now and baby Rhubarb absolutely loves him.
Let’s see what else is new? Hmmmmm, oh, it’s September 23rd and it’s 34C here. Hot weather at this time of year-bring it on, I’m loving it. Not sure how long it will last but it’s better than snow!

I'm back!!
Gosh, there has been a lot going on and no time to write.
We went to Jamaica back in April and of course like any location in the Caribbean, it was beautiful. It was a bit different than we were used to when travelling in the Caribbean (not so safe for women and the men are very aggressive) but we still had a great time.
I finally bought an SUV and got rid of my old cavalier that was falling apart. I think I’ve become cheap in my old age. I hung onto that old thing because I liked not having a monthly vehicle payment but I should have gotten rid of it at least two years ago.
Oil Man and I have been busy doing some things in our yard like putting u p a front yard fence. Now that Baby Rhubarb is running all over the place we need a fence to keep him in. The back yard fence is in place but the front yard fence is a must also.
Speaking of Baby Rhubarb, he is wonderful. The love of my life. I have been blessed with such an amazing child. He is so good and so funny. He gets his sense of humour from his dad. Oh and he is talking like crazy, way above where he should be at his age. I can’t believe that he will be 2 in 3 months. Where did the time go?
He just had a growing spurt so he is actually caught up to the other kids his age now. For the longest time he was just a wee little guy. He put on 4 pounds and grew 2.5 inches.
Oil Man goes back to work tomorrow after being off for 2 months on spring break up. Baby Rhubarb and I will miss him but the money coming back in will be nice. That will always be the downside to the oil patch-spring shut down.

Next on the agenda will be laying slate tiles down in our main floor. We got a smoking deal on them. Normally these tiles go for about $6/tile but we got them for $1/tile. They are the 12x12 size and they are gorgeous. Neither one of us has laid tile before so we are thinking we may hire someone as we don’t want to screw it up. I absolutely love slate and I can’t wait for it to get done. I had it in my last place and I miss having it in this house.
The slate is rustic colours and it really will warm up the place.
Other than that, life is busy, work is busy but I’m enjoying it all.

Cath Up
Wow time has gone by way too fast yet again.
It has been busy to say the least.
Oil Man just got home from being away for 3 weeks, I bought a new SUV and Baby Rhubarb has made two more trips to the Children's Hospital.
Baby Rhubarb caught a nasty virus that gave him a rash all over his body. He looked like he had the measles and his temperature was through the roof. It wasn't measles but they couldn't narrow it down to which virus he had. Anyway, it took about 7 days to clear the virus.
Next trip was this weekend. He was having difficulty breathing and he had this horrible cough. turns out its croup. It is so scary but I guess it's not that serious yet. We are treating him at home and they say croup usually clears in 3-7 days. More scary for Mom and Dad than the child.
This poor little man has had a rough winter. He has been sick so often but the doctors tell me that it's been like that for most children and adults. It's just bad winter for getting sick.
My little man is just that, little. He is 18 months now and is only 31.5 inches tall and 23 pounds. He is in the 10th percentile. He is going to be small just like his mom and dad. I'm only 5'1" and Oil Man is only 5'8" so he didn't have a chance of being tall. He is broad like Oil Man though.
Baby Rhubarb is walking, running and climbing all over everything these days and can say about 10-12 words. What he can't say, he points to. Communication is a great thing. It's nice to know what he wants now.
Oil Man and I are off to Jamaica in 18 days so Gramma will be flying in to take care of Baby Rhubarb. My mom is so excited to spend the time with him and Oil Man and I are so looking forward to the trip.
That's about it for now.
Keep it real.
